Old is a state of mind. My body disagrees but I’m not listening. I’m a student of life and human nature. We are an odd lot. Bells Palsy has been my greatest instructor and seems to have tenure. It’s been around eight years now. My new home (a double wide in a park) is insulated with books and fabric. Books are semi-organized on shelves, fabric is semi-organized in tubs. I’m kind of a semi-organized person. Gardening (weeding) is how I prefer to meditate. There are plenty of weeds so I meditate a lot. My interests are eclectic and my hobbies are many. I’ve lived all over the world and the country. Stop by for a visit and maybe stay awhile.
From my heart to yours,
Marlene Herself

Sounds like there’s a lot of love in your life. A good sense of humor can carry you through some nasty stuff…like the end of a relationship. I’ve been there/done that but got lucky the 2nd time around. I have no sense of direction and get lost frequently, thankfully it always works out in the end. I haven’t read a novel since my last vacation 8 months ago…shame on me (but I read 3 then). I do read National Geo cover to cover most months, love nature, history, culture and of course the amazing photography. Hang in there, I see the sun’s coming up.

You are quite correct. There is lots of love in mmy life. My adult children are always there so I’m very blessed. You do so many creative things I’m surprised you have time to breathe. I read more now since I can do so little of the creative things I enjoy. Yes, a sense of humor is essential and I’m trying to keep track of mine. It wanders off sometimes. Enjoy the sunshine. I miss it so much. 🙂

You have touched my heart in sharing your journey of personal growth and recovery. You write

Marlene, I want to thank you for sharing the animal rescue site. I have added it to my daily

Hi there! I like your writing style. It is genuine and calm. I read you were a senior and then I read you were German LOL. I am a German, non-senior and I think you reminded me of my Mother, rip.
Expressing ourselves is good for us, and obviously it is something that comes to you naturally. In addition to your gifts (parenting & crafts) you are a writer! Kudos to you for embracing your journey. 🙂

Thank you so much for the kind words. I remind me of my mom too especially when something comes out of my mouth that she would say. 🙂 She turned out to be quite a character in her senior years and I’m striving for that. Thanks for reading and I hope you come back again soon.

Don’t faint Marlene, but a little parcel is finally winging it’s way all the way from Tasmania Australia. I was in such a hurry to send it that I didn’t add a note/card or anything but I just wanted to let you know that it is on it’s way. We hope you like it. Steve made them for you 🙂

I keep seeing your comments on other blogs I follow and my curiosity was piqued. Funny how you can tell about people from short sentences. You are a very talented woman. I can’t see to do cross stitch anymore but I’m finally able to sew again. I’m working as fast as I can in that department. I have family in Toowoomba, Qld. Always wanted to visit.

Thank you, that’s very kind. I’m not able to be too active any more due to arthritis, so my handwork and garden are my outlets. Toowoomba is a very beautiful city, full of fabulous gardens, gracious buildings and wide, lovely street. If fate ever sends you the chance to visit, do! And tell me you’re coming, perhaps we can meet!

I wouldn’t hold my breath just now. Traveling is not something I can do much of anymore. Unless the dizziness abates sometime soon, I’ll probably consider my wandering days over. But you never know. ;))

Everything has a purpose in life. Even weeds. The more weeds, The longer the meditation. :)) No one bugs me when I’m pulling weeds.

Hello! I came across your blog in a round about way but I really like it here! You seem to be a very strong woman with a great sense of humor. A close friend of mine suffered from Bells Palsey and I know what a challenge it was for her. She was lucky that it has mostly resolved itself. I hope that you continue to heal as well.
I am looking forward to reading more about you.

Thank you so much Nancy for stopping by and for following. I’m coming up on the 6 year anniversary and still have the damage done by the Bells. Your friend is fortunate as are most that come down with this. Stress is the thing that brings on things like Bells Most can tie the appearance of it to a major stress incident. I’ll stop by your place soon for a visit. Thank you again for your kind words.

Nice to meet you Marlene! Books and fabric…now you are speaking my language. I too love to garden. Doing yard work is therapeutic for me and I’m out in it whenever the weather allows. I have a lot of property to mow. It’s my thinking time. When I’m not out in the garden I am goofing off with my animals. I have too many to list! I’m in the south now, but miss the west coast terribly. I am going back. Just need to find a house big enough to house all the furry creatures I have taken in. In the meantime, I do love the green of the south and having land to spread out in. I am happy I’ve fallen into your blog. Looking forward to reading more! Be well, Koko:)

Thank you so much for the compliments. It’s nice we have a lot in common.I love yard work too though I have very little now. No animals anymore though I do miss them. I get to pet others animals. Lived in the south many years and both my children were born there. I love the pacific north west best of all. Thanks so much for stopping by.
